The coastal paths through Calblanque regional park are the highlight: dunes, hidden coves and old mining hills. Start early in summer and carry more water than you think you need.
Diving
Cabo de Palos and the Islas Hormigas marine reserve are among the area's biggest attractions.
Protected waters mean plenty of fish, big groupers and famous wrecks for experienced divers. Dive centres in Cabo de Palos run courses and trips for beginners too. Snorkelling in the coves is a good way to start.
Watersports
Sailing, kayaking, paddleboarding, windsurfing and more, on the Mediterranean and the Mar Menor.
